- Completely unroll/unfold pad BEFORE applying power. DO NOT USE CORD AS HANDLE.
- DO NOT allow pad to roll, fold over itself or overlap another pad while power is ON. The heat from the Thermalay pad is transmitted by conduction and radiation. If pad is folded so that the heating surfaces are together, the pad will generate/entrap heat that will burn/damage the pad. Pads have instructions stenciled on them which state: "DO NOT ROLL, FOLD OR OVERLAP WITH POWER ON"
- Remove any objects from under the pad which will not conduct heat (i.e. lumber, plywood, cardboard, insulation, plastic pipe, etc.).
- Do not handle pad with power ON.
- Lay pad FLAT against the surface to be heated. Prevent wind under the pad. DO NOT place any items on pad to weight it down.
- Position and secure pad with tie-down grommets BEFORE power is turned on.
- Ensure that designed voltage is applied (i.e. 120 volt).
- Ensure that extension cable is of adequate size to handle the amperage of pad.
- To extend pad life, pads should be rolled or laid flat when not in use. DO NOT FOLD.
- Tarps placed over the top of the Thermalay pads will increase the temperature under the pad but must be monitored.
- Blankets cannot be daisy-chained together.
- Continuous operation of the pad will ensure maximum heat output and will provide protection to your materials.
- The pad will not feel warm to touch. If you need to test the pad, test for continuity. If test shows continuity, the pad is working properly.
WE RECOMMEND THAT THE BLANKETS ARE NOT LEFT UNATTENDED DURING USE.
